July 2014: Response to the Consultants' Report of the Future of Littlehampton Swimming and Sports Centre is proceeding on two fronts:
By organising a PETITION and by providing a RATIONAL REVIEW of the Consultants' proposals and giving full consideration to alternative suggestions for a more comprehensive Leisure facility in North Littlehampton - on land that is available, but inexplicably was not one of the sites considered for relocating the Swimming & Sports Centre, even though it was one of a very few sites that actually could accommodate the centre, unlike approximately 38 sites that were unsuitable. But above all to really give consideration to the merits and demerits of rebuilding on the current site while providing all the desired facilities.

Feb 2014: One year after it closed, the Windmill Cinema re-started showing an enhanced selection of film and streamed performances, principally the result of sustained effort by the Cinema Support Group which showed that there were a number of viable futures for Cinema in Littlehampton.
Jan 2013: Littlehampton Civic Society raised a Petition calling the District Council to help procurement of Digital Projection Equipment for the Windmill. The Windmill stopped showing movies in February.
300 Walkers marched on the Civic Centre in advance of the Key Leisure and Infrastructure Meeting held on 17th January. Several Councillors referred to the level of Public Feeling caused by the Proposals.
Great Response to the proposal to form a Cinema Club - almost 1000 potential members! The Group is starting to take things forward in January 2013
Local Amenity Groups and the Town Council have Nominated the two threatened facilities as Assets of Community Value - see Key Documents
The Action Group is considering options and trying to set up discussion with and between the main players.
The Community Forum is working to widen awareness of the issues among all users of the Leisure Facilities that are under threat.
Everybody should be communicating their views to their District Councillor and MP
